Margaret Badore
Maggie Badore is an environmental reporter and life-long cat lover based in New York City with more than a decade of experience writing about the environment and animals. She started at Treehugger (a Dotdash Meredith brand) in 2013 and is now the Senior Commerce Editor of Treehugger, The Spruce, The Spruce Crafts, and The Spruce Pets. She previously served as the Web Director for National Geographic’s climate change documentary series Years of Living Dangerously. She’s obsessed with composting and solutions to climate change.

Experience
Badore has more than a decade of experience reporting on the environment and animals. She was the editor of Treehugger's lifestyle category for more than two years and wrote extensively about sustainable food, ethical fashion, and green design. She then moved to the The YEARS Project, a production company that uses storytelling to compel people to take action on climate change, and returned to Treehugger in 2020.
Her writing has appeared on Care2, Civil Eats, the New Jersey Spotlight, Mother Nature Network (now part of Treehugger), The Island Now, and Real Detroit Weekly, among other media outlets. A life-long cat lover, she currently lives with a sweet rescue cat named Marbles.
Education
Badore earned her undergraduate degree in writing and environmental studies at Sarah Lawrence College and has a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
