Featuring balls that can be hit along a track, the Easyology Amazing Roller Cat Toy is one product that promises to keep your pet busy. Mila, our playful, 3-year-old tiger cat, tested out the cat toy so we could share whether your felines might like it, too.

Entertainment Value: Our cat loved it

As soon as we put the Easyology Amazing Roller Cat Toy out, our cat was interested. We had to demonstrate how the balls rolled along the track, but after that, she pushed them along herself, watching them go ’round and ’round while she tried to figure out how to free them. 

Each of the three tiers descends in circumference, with an attached ball that cats can hit. It doesn’t take much of a hit to send the ball spiraling around the track, mimicking prey and stimulating felines both mentally and physically. Our cat often tried to put her paw down the center of the toy in order to get the balls out. 

The benefit of a toy like this is that there’s nothing you need to do; cats can entertain themselves. Sometimes when we’re in the other room, we’ll hear the balls start rolling and know she decided to play by herself—the mark of a great toy. It was also fun to join her and help her hit around the balls. If you have multiple cats, this is a game they can play together as long as they can stand being within a few feet of each other.

Design: Skidproof for rough playing

Minor assembly is required with this product. You’ll need to insert the balls onto their tracks and attach the top track portion to the bottom tracks. This is very quick and only takes a few seconds. We purchased ours in black, but it’s also available in white.

We like that the Easyology Amazing Roller Cat Toy has skidproof pads along the bottom so that no matter how intensely your kitty plays, it won’t budge. It’s light enough that it can be tipped over, but we don’t necessarily consider this to be a major problem, and our cat never ended up knocking it over.

Though advertised as being near-silent, the three included balls are actually filled with a granule substance that shakes around when rolled. We didn’t think it was loud enough to bother us, and it does make the toy more attractive to cats. We do think it could be slightly taller, as our cat often only plays with the top rung. We think if it was taller and more eye level, she would engage with more levels.

Safety: No choking hazards

The safety of this toy is one of its selling points: There are no strings, feathers, stuffing, or really anything that your cat can chew and ingest. There are no choking hazards, and the ABS plastic feels strong enough that we don’t worry about it breaking. Overall, this is a very safe toy that we have no qualms about leaving out for our cat to play unattended.

Durability: Lightweight, solid plastic will last

This cat toy is made up of solid yet lightweight plastic. It feels strong enough to last through lots of heavy play, and we have no worries about it breaking. The balls are made of thick plastic with no give; while they are within the tracks, they are safe from being broken.

Ease of Cleaning: Easy to wipe down

The Easyology Amazing Roller Cat Toy is made entirely of plastic, so it’s easy to clean when needed. You can either wipe it down with a damp cloth or run in under a faucet and leave to dry.

Price: Affordable fun

Although its suggested manufacturer’s price is close to $30, you can find it for half that at various sites. At around $14 on sale, it’s fairly affordable, but keep in mind that you can find similar toys for slightly cheaper than this.

If your pet requires something a little more realistic, for the same price you might consider the FYNIGO Cat Interactive Toy, which has a toy mouse your cat can hit around the track instead. It also has a scratching pad on top. Unlike the Easyology toy, it’s a little harder to clean because of the fabric mouse, and any chewers may quickly destroy it. If you have a destructive cat and want something easier to clean, stick with the plastic Easyology toy.
