Tuft & Needle has taken their sleep-centric approach and applied it to create a bed for dogs. "The quality of construction and material is very nice," shared our tester.

"You can tell there was a lot of consideration put into designing this bed and what materials were used, like the easy-to-remove cover and the clips in the corner to keep the mat in place."

The Tuft & Needle Dog Bed features a foam base and, for convenience with traveling and washing, a detachable foam pad cushion. The outer cover is made of durable canvas-like cotton which is more structured than plush. Our tester felt that the exterior's fabrication added to the aesthetic appeal and the longevity of the bed, but wasn't immediately as appealing to their dog.

While the bed is one of the more expensive selections on our list, it does come with a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year limited warranty from the manufacturer. After several weeks of testing and a few washes, our tester found the bed's quality and color to be unchanged.

The absence of bolstered sides on this bed allows dogs to stretch out on their belly, back, or side. Our tester's dog who tends to favor a bed with a walled perimeter took to this bed quickly, burrowing and curling up, so they seemed to enjoy the fluffy open design.

Our tester followed the care instructions for machine washing and drying the entire bed and was pleased with the results. They did feel that washing and drying such a dense bed requires the use of full-sized appliances which may not be as accessible to some. They also felt the weight guidelines for selecting the proper bed size for your pup are misleading, and recommends focusing on the length and width dimensions to find the right size for your dog.
