Abbie Harrison became the Associate Editorial Director of The Spruce Pets and Daily Paws in September 2022. She joined Dotdash Meredith in September 2020 as the Senior Editor for Daily Paws. She launched the site’s pet product content a month after joining the team in addition to managing Daily Paws’ editorial programs and longform feature stories.

Experience
In September 2022, Abbie Harrison became the Associated Editorial Director of The Spruce Pets and Daily Paws. Prior to this role, she joined Dotdash Meredith in September 2020 as the Senior Editor of Daily Paws.
Before joining Dotdash Meredith, she spent four years as a communications specialist at the Center for Cancer Research, part of the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute. She created and managed the entire publication effort of five new print magazines dedicated to communicating the latest cancer research advances to scientists, doctors, patients, and families across the country. Additionally, she worked with and managed a team of freelance science writers to produce new weekly digital content on new cancer research.
While earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from the renowned Missouri School of Journalism, Abbie held various writer, reporter, and editor positions at Vox Magazine, the Columbia Missourian, MOVE magazine, and the University of Missouri School of Law. She also spent a summer in New York interning in the features department at Seventeen. She’s covered topics ranging from local breaking news to pets, lifestyle, food, health, and fitness content.
Now, Abbie uses her editorial skills as a leader for Dotdash Meredith's pet sites, The Spruce Pets and Daily Paws.

Education
Abbie received a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri in 2016. Her thesis focused on the framing of health content in women's health and fitness magazines, and she also served as a graduate teaching assistant for a magazine editing course.
She received a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in magazine editing from the University of Missouri in 2015. As part of her senior capstone project, she worked with three other team members to create a women's literature and lifestyle magazine called Meridian. The magazine won first place in the Start-Up Magazine Project category of the 2015 Student AEJMC awards. She minored in both nutrition and religious studies and received a multicultural certificate after completing extensive coursework in diverse cultures, including a study abroad experience.
